First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH to those of you who responded to my post about disaster relief in Haiti. I’ll be working on your thank you gifts this weekend and will hopefully start getting them in the mail next week. Thanks!!!
Now, I’d like to introduce you to a new friend
This furry little monster is named Boppity. He’s loud, friendly and loves to nap.
I had received this awesome green yarn from my boyfriend for my birthday last year but didn’t know quite what to do with it. It’s recycled silk from Frabjous Fibers (its Hand Picked Hues in “Emerald”). It’s such an interesting yarn (in a fantastic color) and I wanted to save it for the perfect project. I started out making one of my birds with it (I still haven’t made a bird post…oops!) but changed my mind half way through. I made it a little bigger and rounder, added colored eyes, embroidered a grin and made some flat goofy arms. And Boppity was born. (I named it Boppity because that’s the sound I imagine it making as it bounces around – it has no legs, after all.)
Adam found some interesting charges on his cell phone bill.
I made this heart as a test for some that I am selling on Etsy and Boppity quickly fell in love – how appropriate!
I have enough of the yarn to make one more furry monster if anyone is interested. If you’d like a custom monster in another color, let me know. It’ll take a little longer than normal custom orders (which I’ve been getting done in about a week) because I’ll have to order the yarn online. You could have your very own Boppity for $15.
Custom hearts are available for $10.
